Ribbon Fish (Vala) Curry

INGREDIENTS:

Dry ribbon fish (also known as belt fish) – 1/2,
Onion(chopped) – 1 cup,
Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tbsp,
Red chilly powder – 2 tbsp,
Mustard seeds- 1 tbsp,
Coriander powder- 1 tbsp,
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp,
Salt– As required,
Refined oil – 100 – 150 ml,
Tomato(chopped) – 1 cup

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

1. Cut each fish into 5 – 6 pieces and wash well.
2. Heat oil in a pan.
3. Add fish pieces and fry until light brown.
4. Add onions, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, mustard seeds, turmeric powder and coriander powder.
5. Add salt and mix well.
6. After a short while, add chopped tomatoes.
7. Mix well and fry until the oil gets separated.
8. Add little water and cook until it is done

Serve it hot and enjoy…..
