Nathal (Anchovy) Fry

INGREDIENTS:

Anchovies dry fish – 200  gms,
Chilli powder – 1 tsp,
Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp,
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp,
Salt – as per taste (optional),
Oil – 3 to 4 tsp,
Curry leaves – a handful

 

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

  1. Wash the dried anchovies and soak it 20 min in hot water.
  2. Drain the water and remove its head. Leave it in a plate and let it dry for another 10 to 15 min
  3. Add in the coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder. Mix well and let it rest for another 10 min
  4. In a vessel, add 1 tsp oil, and when hot, add the dried anchovies and start frying in batches. Let it become golden brown in colour
  5. Now add in the curry leaves in the final batch of the anchovies. Fry along with the dried fish. Mix all the prepared anchovies together with the curry leaves

Serve it hot and enjoy…..
